When I started out in 2018, I was just like any other brand new coach and newbie business owner. Despite having an incredible coaching qualification and background in Psychology, having and owning a business was clear as mud. What was this strange game? I knew nothing about marketing my services, sales, or actually what it means to be a business owner. But one thing was for real – This was my future and I was all in. With or without a plan. I had to get my empire off the ground, because I’d made the massive decision to be living intentionally, aligned with my values - growth, freedom, integrity and fun - and my calling was SO clear it was just a non negotiable. Death or glory.
The gap between qualifying as a coach and earning my desired income serving soul clients only was huge.
There is a massive gap between having your own business that brings in cash and one that brings you joy, energy, deep fulfilment AND the cash you want. I had built my business, had back to back corporate clients, workshops, training and events that I was delivering throughout the week. The money was there and the amazing feeling of “I’m a boss” was there. But, it was actually draining the F out of me. I was stifling yawns in session. I was clock-watching during some sessions because of who I’d allowed in to my services, while in others I was over giving energy and under-receiving in renumeration. I was neglecting what I really wanted to do with my work and who I really wanted to serve. had to go deeper and get clear on WTF I wanted and WTF I am here to really do.
I realised I had to get really honest about what I wanted and actually own that desire
I had to stop people pleasing at a deeper level. This meant drawing on more courage, raising my prices, owning my authority, reigniting my relationship with my business by investing in myself again, only saying YES to work that lit me up, getting really visible and saying no to a lot of work that felt draining and wasn’t aligned. It was scary! What if no one wanted to work with me? What if I just lost all my work? But guess what? it worked! The moment I more than doubled my prices, I called in one of my favourite clients ever who happily paid what I was charging, in full on the day! Then more and more started coming!

In 2017, I quit my 9-5, sold all my stuff, became a digital nomad and launched my coaching biz a year later.
By 2020 I had doubled my annual income and was working half the hours that I was in my full time job. In 2024 after six months OFF and coming back a new mother, I made the leap to show up with radical confidence and authentic rulebreaking energy. I doubled my monthly income while working HALF the hours I was before maternity leave so I could prioritise parenting and exploring living in Italy. My business is now working completely FOR me: I get to spend hours of quality time with my daughter everyday, take care of myself spiritually, physically and emotionally, have freedom to relax, explore and have family days out every week and never dread any of my calls - I am energised after each one.
